Abstract:

Phenol is one of the important contaminating materials that have toxicity when received in water resources.one of ways omission phenol compounds from water is use of Active Carbon (A.C).Taguchi method was applied to determine optimum conditions in the removal of phenol from water.After the parameters were determined to remove phenol from water,the experimental studies were realized.The chosen experimental parameters and their ranges:phenol(mg/l) 120-230; active carbon(g) 1-10; column to thickness(mm)25-75,respectively.An orthogonal array L9 for experimental plan and the smaller the better performance statistics formula were selected to define optimum conditions.The optimum conditions were found to be as follows: phenol(ppm)120; active carbon(g)5; column to thickness(mm)25.under these optimum conditions,it was determined that the phenol was removed efficiency from water.
