Determination of Corrosion Potential In Drinking Water Distrebution system of Ahwaz City by Index ( Lead and Copper Rule

Abstract:

Lead and Copper Rule is One of the indirect method forDetermination of Corrosion Potential InDrinking Water Distrebution system .Lead and Copper leakage in to water is measured by this method.The objective of this study is determination of potential corrosion of drinking water distribution system of Ahwaz. The averages of corrosion byproducts in tap water were as follows: lead (8.48µg/l) , Copper (0.168 mg/l).The results of this study indicated that lead and copper rule simply and precisely can used for determination of corrosion potential in drinking water distribution system of Ahwaz and similar areas. Application of this method does not need to the imprecise and complicated calculation of routine methods for determination of corrosion potential.
