Abstract:

To study on the fossil fuels air pollution emitted by stationary and moving sources and its distribution over Gorgan City in Iran, the amount of pollutants such as CO, CO2, CxHx, SO2, NO2 and SPM ( Suspended Particle Material) have been estimated by using JICA (1997) scale. Collection of data were done through six sample plots in the settlements and roads, at four time a day and six periods of year 2005. Evaluation of the fuel consumption and estimation of the emitted pollution by stationary and moving sources have been done in each sample plot in different times. Then the distribution maps of pollutants have been prepared by using the SURFER Microsoft in computer. The study conducted that, the southern districts of the city because of rough topography, wind direction ( west to east) and density of settlement buildings had the maximum amount of emitted gaseous. The SPM distribution was mostly affected by the density of moving sources of emission. The density of CO in the southern districts of the city, was above critical level particular in cold seasons and day times.
