Abstract:

Today, the pipe lines industry is an enormous capital that forms vital vessels and of any petrochemical, refinery and factory. Regarding to the oil, fluids and any other solutions consecutive movement and such savings transportation toward many places, the importance of pipe lines could be more cleared and also according to the huge costs spent to produce pipe lines, the importance of corrosion prevention is better understood. The physicochemical interaction between the metal and the environment which usually includes an electrochemical property and the final result is to change the metal attributes, and these changes absolutely will result in losing the functional ability of metal; and the environment or the system that includes these two factors, as a part, is called corrosion. In this paper we are trying to express the glass (Borosilicate) power and properties against any kind of pipes, have been made or introduced, and to show that the proposed glassy pipe can be replaced without any corrosion, for the pipes which are exposed to more corrosion. And this thesis opens a new view toward the corrosion engineering.
