Application of tilt angle and analytic signal for gravity anomalies edge detection: acase study of Gardaneh Rokh,Iran

Abstract:
The edge detection of gravity and magnetic anomalies is one of the most important steps in the interpretation. In this paper the application of edge detection three filters togravity data is described. The residual gravity anomalies are used as the real data. Local phase filters are used to determinethe edges of these residual anomalies. The tiltderivative filter method results are compared with the results from theanalytic signal method which is a classical edge detection method. Tilt derivative filter method showsthe betterperformance of the analytic signal filter method. All map images used in this paper have been generated using MATLAB programming.
