Abstract:

State-of-the-art techniques for plasticity based constitutive modeling of cohesive and cohesionless soils are discussed. Following a discussion of historical developments in soil constitutive modeling, a review of current capabilities for modeling the stress-strain-strength behavior of soils in monotonic and cyclic loading regimes is presented.
