Qualitative Assessment of Providing Health Care Services in the Earthquake Damaged Areas (Case Study: Bam Earthquake)

Abstract:

Health care is considered as a basic right for nations and a strategic issue for the governments. Access to the health care services is one of the basic rights and is one of the national development objectives. In general, health care is one of the crucial needs of the human societies, therefore providing and supervising health services is one of the most important duties of governments, in order to improve the quality of the provided services.Governments as a major health care provider make recommendations and set policies for criteria and standards, necessary for providing health care services to the natural disasters’ victims. This issue is more vital when natural disasters such as earthquakes occur and having a fundamental, integrated and coordinated management becomes more essentialSo far, the evaluation of the health services provided in natural disasters in our country has been mainly based on quantitative aspects and qualitative criteria have been rarely considered, in this paper the evaluation of the health services based on the qualitative criteria has been conducted, examining the service provided in the areas damaged by Bam earthquake.
