Abstract:

Rapid Visual Screening (RVS) of buildings for potential of seismic hazards was introduced by FEMA154 in 1988, and it was written in an easy way for a broad audience ranging form engineers to trained nonprofessionals, to rank buildings in two categories by sidewalk observation: • Acceptable risk to life • Seismically hazardous In this lecture, beside of introducing the methodology of FEMA154-155 for RVS, it tries to check 10 school in Tehran which they were checked by Iranian Pre Code for Seismic Rehabilitation of Existing structures.
