Effects of information technology in crisis management and disaster

Abstract:

Disasters can happen in every time and places and are the reason of dieing more than 1000 people in all over the world. Our country because of its location on the bend of earthquake and unsuitable conditions of weather and destroying of natural resources is among the 10 seismic zones in the world. In 10 passed years we see the many disasters that BAM earthquake was one of them in this way we need to have good management from our organizations that are concern with this matter. Today information technology has a good place in disaster management and can help to decreasing the expenses and damages, suitable communication in the time of disaster. Disaster controlling and getting true decides without the accurate information of the amount of damages and condition of the zone are not possible and it show that getting decided with out knowledge, can increase the losses and damages. Results of researching show expanded using the information technology in disasters in developed countries look like AMERICA and do not using the information technology in the countries under developing and its effects on information and disaster management that decrease the damages of crisis. With looking at the results of researching of information in disaster management it seems that do not knowing the peoples from the benefits and the way of using these technology and not availability of soft wares and equipments inside iran cause to this that till today the effect of information technology is deleted and we can with providing the equipments and soft wares educated of the passed personnel in comparison with the disasters, change it to new management method and decrease the damages to minimum.
