Abstract:

Analytical Hierarchy Process is one of the perfect systems has been designed to multi criteria decision making. This is because of its abilities in hierarchical modeling of complex problems and also it can have attention to different numeric and analytic parameters which have influence on the problem. In this paper we have present a method that is similar to AHP but it is improved by Interval Mathematics which can help us to determine the weights of important parameters in making earthquake vulnerability maps. In this technique we use Interval Mathematics in order to consider the effects of uncertainty of expert's opinions. The weights have been made according to our technique are suitable to use them in overlay analysis of GIS which is kind of multi criteria decision making. In overlay analysis different parameters are as different map layers that can produce a suitable result map like earthquake vulnerability maps. In these situations usage of AHP is reasonable because in some applications we must overlay layers with different contents and weights.
