Abstract:

Landslide is one of destructive natural and environmental events that we witness its losses in our country every year. It increases the risks since it causes personal and physical losses. On reasonable exploitation from environmental increases risk that often leads to difficulty in planning and resolving this problem. Although risk calculation is still continuing, its consequences aren't reliable because of increase in the level of uncertainty. So the fundamental challenge is to develop the ways calculating primary risk. Risk discussion and its evaluation in natural disaster are increasing in recent decades as it is known as risk revolution. The main aim of this progress is to consult in deferent topics and decide according to scientific principles. Risk is the result of interaction among hazard, vulnerability, exposure and elements at risk. These functions has been mentioned in the relations of Carrara (1983),Varnes(1984),Jones(1995) which is quantitative and mathematical. By using it, we can identify different level of landslide by determining probability of landslide hazard and accordingly reach the total risk of a region quantitatively. The relative merit of quantification versus qualitativism is one of the seven major debates within risk management. Application of numerical value and mathematical relation in risk evaluation is therefore completely reasonable.In this paper we've tried to express the basic concepts and relations of landslide risk assessment and also to render a method which enables experts and decision makers to identify the risk of a definite region quantitatively by using this way and finally apply landslide risk assessment correctively.
