Abstract:

Managers as the main keys of organizations have critical roles in developing institutional programs. One of the problems which hospitals face is the critical situations in natural disasters. With regard to the recognition of types of natural disasters in the world, the occurrence of 31of those in Iran puts this country the tenth. In order to handle the critical situations in natural disasters, hospitals should have prepared operational programs in advance. Methods & material: The purpose of this research is: clarifying the amount of readiness in Shiraz University of Medical Sciences hospitals in critical situations in1383 . The present study was carried out by a cross-sectional method. The statistical population of this research includes: hospitals of Shiraz University of Medical Sciences with 28 staff members and managers. The collected data was analyzed via SPSS program. Results: 55/5%of the supervisors and 77%of managers have attended the critical management classes. With regard to the need for critical management, managers should attend these classes. Just only in50% of research community hospitals the nurses have received the training in how to evacuate patients in crisis and emergencies. In 83/9% of research community hospitals the basic needs such as: medicine, facilities and food was estimated. In 66/7% of research community hospitals, the necessary prediction has been done in order to take care of children, mothers and pregnant women. In 11/1% of hospitals the walls and inflammable blades for warehouses were built. Conclusion: The occurrence of disorder in the first moment of an event is unavoidable. What each appropriate program is looking for is decreasing this amount of time. The main purpose is paying attention to the patients rather than visiting a lot of them without any needed care. The structure of a hospital with regard to its complexity of services requires the minds and thoughts of professionals in management
