Abstract:

Kermanshah is one of the earthquake-prone provinces of Iran. It contains several cities, towns and districts. The city of Kermanshah includes four partition and this article, refers to investigating the seismic vulnerability of the partition 4 of the city. This partition is in a better condition from the point of weather and facilities. In this paper, after the literature review, the geographic characteristics, climate, population, economic, cultural, and structural characteristics of Kermanshah and specially the partition 4, are mentioned. In this study, we concentrate on the lane of "Dr.Chegeni" located in the zone of "Shahrak-e-Motakhassesin", and the around streets and gather some information about the type and oldness of building, outward appearance and additions, the number of storeys, the accumulation of people and buildings, the mass-space parts of the current houses in the lane, the compatibility of the buildings, the slope of the ground, type of using the buildings, the situation of passages and streets textures, the possibility of escaping and easy access while happening a disaster and recognition of places available around the area to use for the emergency and temporary accommodation. This information are ganed through exact observation. After that, we use SWOT analysis and then we will be able to evaluate the degree of vulnerability of the case under study; and finally, we offer some suggestions to solve the problems about this case.
