Sistan plain with 15000 square kilometers area is located on the north of Sistan & Balouchestan province and it’s climate & ecological conditions show that desert climate is ruling in this region. 120th days winds is one of the most important specialities of Sistan that usually starts from 1th khordad and will continue till 31th of Shahrivar. At the watery time of hamoon lake these Winds were cause of joy & freshness ,but unfortunately Hamoon’s bed dried and 450,000 hectares of this lake are changed to a source of producing dust, that; in the recent years with the wind effect has damaged many substructure establishments, roads , urban & rural houses and in the meanwhile has increased the percent of being affected by pulmonary , intestinal and ophtalmic disease. In this discourse first we have an inspection on ecological & natural conditions of sistan & past records of 120th days winds & then we will proceed to injurious effects of sand storms in this region and at the end ,some preventing and responsing methods for decrease the effect of this phenomenon will be pointed.
