Abstract:

Cheshmezard gold deposit is one of the anomalies of Arghash project, which is placed 45 Km far from Neyshabour in the southwest direction. In order to preliminary design of mine, the exploration operations in the studied area were assessed. The gold reserve of the deposit was estimated by modeling of the ore body. The technical studies of mine was performed based on 138880 tons of ore having an average content of 3.76 ppm Au. As a result of preliminary geomechanical investigations, the morphology and the geometry of the ore body, open pit mining was determined as the extraction method for the oxide zone of the deposit. After the choice of loading and haulage equipment, geometric parameters of open pit and ultimate stripping ratio (8:1) was determined. Concerning the high capital cost of equipment and the small scale of mining operations, exploitation by a contractor was suggested. For the cost estimation of mineral processing operations, a preliminary processing flowsheet for the oxide zone was designed. After the estimation of the project income, ultimate pit limits designed according to stripping ratio and the access road to the pit was determined.
