Abstract:

The design of a jointed rock slope angle is an important problem in the design method of rock engineering application. The prediction of displacements and deformations of rock slope is an important aspect of the rock mechanics in the design of rock slope angle. The UDEC software is a powerful tool for investigating the slope failure mechanism and predicting the slope sliding. Hence this software was used to investigate the potential of instability in the west wall of Sarcheshmeh open pit mine. The agreement between of the theoretical results with the field observations shows that the model is satisfactory and can be effectively used to predict the displacements due to open pit mining and also the slope failure due to the influence of groundwater.
