Abstract:

In this paper, the method of image analysis, using Gold Size software is applied to evaluate the muck pile size distribution of Gol-e-Gohar iron ore mine. In the second phase of the work and in order to validate the results obtained by image analysis method, two samples of 16.8 and 18 tones of two types of iron ore were analyzed using image analysis and also by sieve method. The results showed that, in both types of iron ore, with an increase in muck pile size, image analysis and sieve analysis results are converging. In low magnetite iron ore, the differences between image analysis and sieve analysis results are more considerable than the oxide zone.
