Abstract:

Since the surface copper mines have limited reserves and usually are deep enough, so the exploitation of such type of deposits requires many benches. With increasing the benches and ramps in the mine, the distance that the trucks should carries the materials to out side the mines is also increased. Using the in-pit crushing in mines and convey materials with conveyor, not only the number of truck required is reduced, but also causes the constructing long ramps to be lendy. In such situation the importance of the design of in-pit crushing systems reveals and reduces the operational costs, too. In this paper, the studies of situation of present crusher and the predicting of a new in-pit crusher with respect to tonnage in the Sarcheshmeh copper mine have been carried out, consequently the suitable crusher for reduction of the waste material for durating of five years have been selected. Finally the comparison between the number of trucks in two systems with overall capital and operational costs were analysed.
