Abstract:

Determination of soil moisture retention curve (SWCC) in order to study unsaturated zone is necessary. This curve demonstrates the relation between the moisture content that exists in the soil and total suction. Moisture content affects on fluid behavior consequently, affects on Copper recovery. Many researches used the wetting agents to improve Heap Leaching efficiency. Therefore, awareness of moisture variation exists in the Heap in order to study fluid behavior, to design optimum pattern is required. Many studies have been done in the Sarcheshmeh Copper Heap Leaching, soil moisture content resulting of water and acid seepage determined by Pressure Plate. By results obtained from Sieve Analysis and Schaap hierarchical Neural Network, soil hydraulic parameters were determined. Also, by using these results, SWCC of water and acid was determined. Soil behavior versus water and acid indicated abit difference, which shows an insignificance influence of fluid type in comparison with soil textural characteristics on SWCC. Finally, the optimum model in order to design Heap Leaching moisture characteristic curve, Van Genuchten equation based on Mualem theory was recognized.
