Abstract:

These days, in the competitive economical situation, productivity has become one of the most important issues in all industries. Among these industries, construction, especially in mega projects, is more critical. This article aims at realizing factors and suggestions for improving construction productivity of oil mega projects in Iran. There are several factors which can affect the construction productivity but based on literature review, the team interest, and work experience background, Planning, Engineering, and Communication areas have been selected to do the research on. This research describes the effects of these three factors and their sub-factors on construction productivity, prioritizes them and finds out improvement suggestions and recommendations based on opinions surveyed by eight interviews done with very well experienced project and construction managers as well as 28 filled questionnaires which have been distributed among project managers through e-mails and in person methods
