Calculating Rate of Bank Erosion in Gravel Rivers

Abstract:

Bank erosions often are in 2 types: one, bank basal erosion and two, bank failure. In this paper rate of bank erosion calculated based on differences between amount of sediment entrained and amount of deposition entrainment using an analytical model. When entrainment rate of sediment is more than deposition rate erosion happens. This investigation in gravel straight rivers which bank failure happens cantilever in them, has been done. For validation of model Ikeda (1981) experimental data which are on gravel rivers for measurement of bank erosion, are model.
