Abstract:

In morphological dynamic and restoration of rivers subjects, dominant discharge of channel forming discharge, use as design discharge. This dominant discharge can be based on field measurements, a chosen recurrence interval of flooding or related to the effective discharge. quilibrium of channel form is affected by flow energy and sediment resistance against erosion and effective discharge is defined as the flow which transports the most sediment over the period of the record. In present research, the analytical solutions are illustrated for estimating of effective discharge with suspended load in gravel bed rivers. A comparison of analytical solutions with observational results we can conclude that, analytical solutions can be use in channel design discharge. We can achieve more accurately if we use measurement bedload and/or calculated bedload.
