Abstract:

Much of the overflows in Iran are contained in Khuzestan rivers carrying considerable suspended sediment loads at the same time. Size of the sediment particles is paid particular attention in sediment transport studies, estimating of the suspended load in the rivers, and predicting of the sediment deposition in reservoirs and riverbeds using various models. In this research, more than 500 representative samples of uspended sediment load were collected from 10 different hydrometric stations and then size distribution of the samples was determined, and by applying laboratory analysis size distribution of the samples at different discharges and velocities of the average flow was specified.
