Abstract:

One of the essential steps in river modeling is determination of boundary conditions. For this purpose, data of upstream and down stream stations have been utilized. Using tupical hydorological methods to evalute intermediate catchment foolds due to the fact of lack of data yields non accurate results. In this study an unsteady mathematical modeling is used in order to be close to reality in which routing of flood is significant. In this model the intermediate catchment flood is significant. In this model the intermediate catchment flood is located at the centroid of its reach and consieral as an unknown. An objective function is defined as the sumatin of squares of differences of observed and computed discharges of a flood at various times. The intermediate catchment flood in every particular flood should be determined so that the defined objective function at the down stream station is minimized.
