A Survey of Flood Warning Systems in iran and Comparison with System in the World

Abstract:

On of the most effective measures of flood damage mitigation id flood warning system. The flood warning system comprise three components, (i.e. monitoring , forecasting and deciding) flood earning systems have been used in major rivers of the world , for 40 years . some countries like the U.S., Australia , Canada, Japan , India and European Union countries have achieved successful results for this purpose. Recently , the utilization of flood warning system has been proposed as a serious strategy in Iran. In this paper after introducing the structure of flood warning system. These systems in developed countries (i.e. the U.S., Australia, Canada and European Union countries) and developing countries. (i.e. Iran and India Europen Union countrues) and developing countries. (i.e. Iran and India) have been rivirwed and compared in main three components. Comparing showed that, iran is in the study stage of flood warning system , chiefly. The study of flood warning system has been finished in some flood prone area, but the number of problems (i.e. Madarson and pishin( have been reinforced to flood warning system . applying the results gained in the other countries, leads to expedition and improvement the studies and practial using of flood warning systems.
