Abstract:

Nowadays determination of quality and pollution level in water resources needs accurate measurements of environmental indices. The amount of chlorophyll in water resources can show primary production and food chain situations. The sensors that can measure chlorophyll are CZCS, Modis, Seawife which have been used by many resources. For present study in khor musa estuary and northeast portion of the Persian Gulf, the landsat TM and Modis sensors data products were used . Due to sensitivity of TM data to different phenomenon, authors used these in 3R,1B,2G combination. Furthermore, using NDVI= RIR-R/RIR+R formula used to estimate the amount of chlorophyll content in waters. Also, the ratio of TM1 to TM2 shows that most of Khour Mousa area are having 0.5 mg/m³ of chlorophyll. Whereas, in the NE portion of Persian Gulf (year 81-82) using ENVI4 software with different bands of (10,9,11 and 12) combination of Modis sensor, the amount of chlorophyll us estimated. The result indicates that surface chlorophyll a (0.2-1 mg/m³) and deep chlorophyll a (1.6-0.4 mg/m³) showing greater changes
