A method for finding the defects of Karkheh-Hamidieh Driversion Dam Fish Way

Abstract:

Fish ways are structures that provide the fish passing to the upstream and their to their intended ecosystem . the construction process of the Karkheh – Hamidieh Diversion dam started in 1330 (1951 BC) on Karkeh river, 35 km northwest of Ahvaz and 11km north of Hamidieh and operated in 1335.Most kinds of the fish in Karkheh river are: Barbus esocinus , B. Sharpeyi, Liza abu, B.grypus , B.xabthoperus. Fish way for the first time in kuzestan province designed and implanted on the karkheh- Hamidieh Diversion Dam. This structure is orifice spillway and includes 11 pools. There is one spillway (middle wall) between each two pools. The height of this spillway is considered 75 cm from the bottom of upstream and 100 cm from downstream. The 25 cm height discrepancy between the upstream and downstream bottom of the middle wall, is implemented as a step in the spillway. Under the middle wall and on one side of the spill ways, an orifice is considered for fish passing. The present study first assesses and evaluates the dimensions of the structure and then rates the local velocity of the flow in the polls. Desert surveying shows that due to the previous floods , severe erosions took place in the downstream of the structure, as a result , the existing final poll in the dry season comes out of water more than one meter. Therefore the relation ship between fish and the structures is no longer possible . in the present study certain suggestions are made in order to remove the defects of the structure (longitudinal slope and length) , length variations and establishing a rest pool.
