Abstract:

Consider and estimation of water quality variables are one of the important as aspect of sustainable operation of water resources in rivers. In this study an artifical Neural Network model is development for the estimation of water quality variable inculuding DO, BOD and EC in different part of the river considering the available water quality data at an up stream point in Karoon River, Gotvand Dam station. For generating the required input data for ANN model , a river quantity quality simulation model has been developed with monthly time step using Qual2k simulation software (EPA, 2003) . Karoon River , in south west of Iran has been selected as a case study. Water quality variables including DO,BOD and EC have been simulates at select / critical point of the river. The results of this study have been used evaluation the effects of water withdrawal from Karoon on water quality variables. The results show the effects of water transfer from Kohrang III to Zayandeh-rud River on the water quality of karoon this not significant .
