Abstract:

Flood as an important natural phenomena, was always in human attention and according to the development of the social, industrial, cultivation centers and due to flood damage increment in recent years, it needs more attention. one of the main problems in river engineering which a hydraulic engineer must often deals with it, is predicting the procedure of flood uprising and drawdown in a specific point of river and also the effect of this motion variation on the shape and height of flood. In this paper, we tried to introduce a new mathematical model for flood routing in rivers. to obtain this mathematical model , we should derive of Harmonic-periodic wave model in time and space direction then turn it to differential equation of Harmonic wave. to compute the coefficients of Harmonic-periodic wave model,partial equations should be solved simultaneously by implicit and explicit numerical methods. and then suitable relationships between the coefficients of this equation and the discharge changes in the system, is calculated. this model can be applied in all flood routing studies such as flood alerting systems or reservoir flood routing. The significant characteristic of this model in comparison of other hydraulical flood routing models, is independency to geometrical characteristics of the flood flowing passage. also the main characteristic of this model in respect to other hydrological routing models specially hydrological flood routing in river, is non-linear estimation of flow storage. in fact, in the proposed method, the model coefficients is determined by measured flood wave data in a specific span of river.
