Abstract:

Karun basin in southeast of Iran is the important basin because of economical, agricultural, security and political aspects. So study of rivers regime and water resource management in this basin is one of essential works. In this research mean annual discharge of Karun Rivers in Polshalo station used to determination of Karoon basins wet and dray years. Firstly, in this research, from analysis of error between observed and estimated discharge, the Bloom platting position formula selected from different available formulas then using goodness of fit test in L-moment approach, the Gamma distribution from tow parameter distributions and generalized logistic distribution from tree parameter distributions selected as the appropriated distributions. Finally the Wakbay distribution selected as appropriate because of its low estimated error. five-parameter Analysis shows that Karun River in Polshalo station is 10.9 percents in very humid condition, 17.4 percent in humid condition, 10.9 percent in semi-humid condition, 23.9 percent in normal condition, 15.2 percent in semiarid condition, 13 percent in arid condition and 8.7 percent in very arid condition.
