Abstract:

Flood is a disaster factor and damage agricultur , industrial and urban lands every years. Flooding cause these damages on the banks of rivers due to limiting capacity of runoff transfer in the river channels and high intensity rains. Recognition of flooding zones of river needs a series of ground surveying and upper catchment hydrology information . Ground surface mapping are expensive, needs more time and not available in most saces. Otherwise , remote sensing is a suitable tool for obtaining valuable in most cases. Otherwise , remote sensing is a suitable tool for obtaining valuable information from flood zones. ETM+ images with visible bands can interprate flood zones based on different color in respect to sorounded areas out of flood zone due to less vegetation cover and have new sediment covers. Different color composities of ETM+ for the Hendijan – Jarrahi basin was prepared. Different hybrid methods (unsupervised method), eye interpretation and orthophotos methods was used in this research . results show that orthophoto methods are suitable for recognize flood planning, because of using elevation . correlation of flood area with ground mapping of flood zones are muched well. The method are recommended for other basins.
