Abstract:

In this paper for linear switched reluctance motor (LSRM) aligned inductance, unaligned inductance, and driving force are calculated using 2D finite element method (2D-FEM) and 3D finite element method (3D-FEM). Comparison between 2D-FEM and 3D-FEM results shows an unacceptable error when 2D-FEM is used.
