Hydro Generators Refurbishment of Shahied Abbaspour HPP

Abstract:

Refurbishment of hydro generator will be implemented by a consecutive renewal of individual component within schedule assuring minimal disruption in operation of generator. Duringrefurbishment, several objectives have to be considered such as: •Increasing efficiency •Elimination of unsteady effects•Prolonging life scale •Increased Generator availability, reliability and safety •Increased revenues from peak power generation •Reduced service and maintenance costsDecision making for plant refurbishment is a very complex task requiring the assessment of the condition of existing plant components and the evaluation of the cost versus generation capabilitysituation. A total replacement of worn or damaged generator components is far beyond theallowable cost for repair. Several circumstances have to be investigated and arbitration between the different options has to be made.In this paper discuss the method for determining generator up grading potentials
