Benefits of Hydropower Plants Services with an Emphasize on International Experiences

Abstract:

The concept of value is considered as one of the most important topics in economic context which can be useful in economic assessment and analysis of project benefitsand also determination of cap price in process of pricing. Economic value and willingness to pay have same meaning literarily and could be replaced conversely.This paper attempts to submit valuation methods for the least group of services provided by hydropower plants (electricity generation and ancillary servicesprovision as power related service and pollutant emission as non power service) with the focus on studies in united state of America, Australia and Nepal.This paper contains 2 primary sections including conceptual basis of economic valuation and introduction of hydropower plant services alongside the commonmethodologies for valuation hydropower plants. In the third section the application ofeconomic valuation in cost benefit analysis will be presented at international levels.
