Abstract:
In this paper, in order to analyse the optimal discharge conditions of electric discharge oxygen iodine laser for achieving the greatest O2 (a 1Δg) yield, the maximal theoretical O2 (a 1Δg) yield (Ymax) was estimated. This estimation was done by considering the saturation of O2 (a 1Δg) due to super-elastic electron collisions and O2 (a 1Δg) dissociation by electron impact. The results show that the electron temperature was in the range Te= 1.9-2.1 eV, the main part of the atomic oxygen O (3P) is removed from the discharge region, and the Maximum yield of O2 (a 1Δg) was obtained to be about 45%.
