Abstract:
Coal mines closure may be planned but most commonly, it is premature, occurring before coal reserves are exhausted. The reasons why mines close are diverse and include economic, geological, geotechnical, regulatory, community and other pressures. This paper presents the reasons of mine closure, the economic and social aspects of mine closure in South Pabedana and Babnizoo coal mines at Kerman province.
