Abstract:

In this paper, the experimental and numerical Failure analysis of Fiber Metal Laminates (FML) with circular cutouts, are investigated. Fiber Metal Laminates are types of materials which are consist of combination of metal sheets, especially aluminum ones, with fiber reinforced epoxy layers. At first, specimens have been manufactured, and circular cutouts with two dimensions have been created in them, Then subjected to in-plane tensional loading to carried out the behaviors, also, finite element analysis using ABAQUS commercial software and RIKS method are used. Finally, experimental and finite element results are compared with each other and with results of Elastic Compensation Method.
