Abstract:
This study presents a novel method for preparing a large scale of graphene oxide and graphene nanosheets powder. Transmission electron microscopy (TEM), X-ray diffraction (XRD), atomic force micrograph (AFM), field emission scanning electron microscopy (FESEM), and fourier transform infrared (FTIR) analysis methods are used to analyze the morphology and properties of graphene oxide’s nano platelets. In comparison with graphite, the XRD pattern of produced graphene oxide shows that the significant peak of 2Ө transfers to lower degrees when nanosheets appear. TEM micrographs and SEM images of nanosheets reveal the presence of nano graphene oxide in the stable suspension and morphology of the graphite nanosheets powder. Furthermore, AFM analysis of nano fillers displays the formation of nanosheets with an average thickness of about 1nm. Moreover, FTIR spectra of graphite oxide nanosheets manifest the presence of carboxyl, hydroxyl and epoxy groups on nanosheets
