Abstract:
In this paper direct power control (DPC) strategy is applied to control a doubly fed induction generator (DFIG) based wind energy generation system. Voltage space vectors of rotor side converter (RSC) are applied using optimum switching table based on stator flux position and active and reactive power states. Also a voltage-based direct power control (V-DPC) strategy is used to control grid side converter (GSC) and regulate DC link voltage at desired level which has several advantages over conventional method. Simulation results on a 2 MW DFIG demonstrate robust, precise, and fast dynamic behavior of system during variation of reference power, machine parameters, and rotor speed.
