Abstract:
In this paper a theoretical method of calculating optimal resistances for crowbar of doubly fed induction generator (DFIG) under asymmetrical faults is proposed by taking into account the impact of crowbar on reactive power, rotor current, voltage and electrical torque respectively. Finding the optimal resistance value for the crowbar is based on Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) in this paper, of the DFIG during the single and 2 phase. A typical relative importance is selected and optimization is carried out. The optimized crowbars are used to improve the stator voltage during the fault and the faster coming back after the fault and it will be shown that one could use one optimized crowbar for single and 2 phase fault simultaneously.
