Abstract:

One of the basic problems in hydrological studies is the absence or imperfectness of hydrometry data for low flow and flooding periods. These problems are basically due to high cost for installing hydrometry gauges ,problems of gauges holding and no accassible to all of the watershed. In this paper ,we selected 19 gauges wich had the best duration data and other necessary parameters ,in Daryacheh-e-Namak basin (Basin 41 based on the division of the Ministry of Power) and were taken from this selected gauges, low flow of 7 days and Q90%.Then flow were determined for 7 days low flow L and Q90% for 2,5,10,20, and 50 years return periods. In this study ,we also assigned 14 variables ,including hydrological, climatic and geological watershed in selected gauges. The most important in the above the factors that had minimum dependence on each other was distinguished using statistical methods. Then similar basins were determined by the use of cluster analysis and Andrews curve method. Then low flow was estimated in similar watersheds by non-dimensional aiding area. Finally, we compared estimated low flows using these two methods and observed low flow and discussed the importancei' of these methods. 5
