Climatic Fluctuations and their Effect on the Road Trafic and accidents in Haraz Road

Abstract:
In order to investigate the effect of climatic fluctuations on the accidents and traffic of Haraz Road , the following data were provided for the months of Azar to Farvardin:
1 . Daily data of roadyaccidents for period 1369-1375,
2 . Daily traffic data for the period 1373-1377,
3 . Present weather and daily weather elements of Abali,
First the daily accidents were classified according to their reported climatic causes, then, the weather situation on these days were analysed based on related statistical methods. The results showed that :
1 . Climate is the most important factor in road accidents of Haraz;
2 . Freezing temperatures accompained with rainy days were the main cause of the accidents;
3 . Temporal maxima of climatic accidents were observed in march (26 percent) , December (22 percent) and january (18 percent) ;
4 . The location of frequent accidents were ; Rodhen area , Abali's ski region and the area between plur and Manzarieh , respectively .
