Abstract:

One of the important factors regarding dams is related to operation period. There are different impacts on the study area in proportion to dam size. The aim of this study is mvestigating interaction between climate changes and reservoir dam construction. The result showed that these structures have significant effects on climate parameters. Large lakes that exist behind reservoir dams make a large evaporation area that can provide certain changes in microclimate. Therefore, air annual temperature is decreased and climate humidity increased. In addition, water volume added to atmosphere (If others satisfied) can have effect on remporal and spatial distributions and amount of rainfall. Computations showed that there is a decreased mean temperature for microclimate. There is a range change from a maximum for dam lake bank to a minimum for microclimate boundaries. Based on performed calculations on average. Evaporation loss from reservoirs of these dams is about 280 MCMIyear. Using also Sigma Plot software and performing non-linear regression test, relation for calculating decreased temperatures for specified distance from dam are presented that can use for region with similar catchment characteristics. Emphasis of this paper is mainly on reservoir dams constructed in Khuzestan
