An outlook of climate and transportation with emphasis on temperature and wind in the region of Kerman- Zahedan railway axis

Abstract:

One of the planetary' transportation methods is using the railroads. Many researchers has been conducted on the effect of climate on transportation till now and these evidences show that climatic conditions can ill fluence on different transportation methods (planetary, marine, airborne). Recognition of some parameters like temperatures, wind. Perception fiost and.. . in different region make it possible for designers to guarantee the transportation safety concerning to restriction of the regions. Construction, maintenance and repairmen of roads are cases that are influenced by climatic conditions. In recent years Kerman- Zahedan railroad plan has been studied and performed in order to reduce deprivation in south- eastern parts of IRAN. In addition this plan could be a useful tool for expansion of trade with Pakistan and travelling in loot desert because of its cool weather in cool seasons and warm weather in warm seasons. Surely the plan's performance requires widespread studies, one of these studies is determining of climatic restrictions along this path that is discussed in this paper. Some natural hazards along this path are extreme temperatures and sandstorms that make difficulties for transportation. Hence for safety and keeping of capital and optimal usage of railway) in long periods, it is necessary to reduce and mitigate natural hazards along this path.
