Abstract:

The objective of this paper is to present the variability of precipitation intensities in Morocco regarding climate change and its impact on extremes. To do that, we considered the data of 33 meteorological stations and we used the monthly maximum intensity on the eight periods of references, which are 5, 10, 15,30,60, 120,360 and 720 mn. We separated the data of each period of reference and for each station, in three equal parts: treacle one, treacle two and treacle three, and we examined the distribution of the treacle three on the three equal periods that each one represents the third chronological part of the station set length. . The results show, for each station, that the elevated intensities are becoming more frequent during the summer time (July and August) and during the other months these elevated intensities have not the same behaviors depending on station and on month, but not on reference period. An automatic classification has' been performed to see if there is some regional behavior of these elevated intensities but it doesn't show any organized characteristics.
