Abstract:

Underground mining operations particularly coal mining are considered as a hazardous activity compared to the other sectors of industry . Due to high rate of fatalities and disabling accidents risk assessment process is highly important . The results of risk analysis can be used efficiently in decision making for the health and safety system planning in a risk environment such as coal mines . In this paper a procedure of risk analysis which is based on consultation and participation of workers , managers , and and all involving staff in a system is present . It is then explained how the determined risk can professionally be reduce to an acceptable level .
