Abstract:

Historical background of mineral resources of Golastan province are lead , zinc , Iron , copper ores as well as titanium , Bauxite &Laterite , evaporites and loess deposites & coals . At present about 10 mines which most of them are coal mines that are active in this provice . The impact of mining on environment has to be considered in terms of two phases of project and on the type of mining. In the first one is exploration activityes and the second one ix type of excavation either open cut mining or uderground mining may differ from each other. The exploration phase as general rule , has little impact on environment but , the passage of four - well drive vehicles and use of explosives in seismic prospecting can result in damage to flora , and possibly constitute alocus for initiation of soil erosion . The environment effects must be studied with mining methods . underound mine development has minimal environment impact , the most serious hazards are subsidence , which in general is associated only with coal mines as well as Explotion and firing . coal miners will be faced with all respiratory diseases . in the case of open - cut mines , the environmental damage is more wide spread and more significanf. So mining either underground or open - cut is unavoidable in this province . so then for protection of environment, we must consider the best metod to least impact of mining on environment.
