Abstract:

Run of mine coal with substantial amount of ash and other detrimental elements like posporous and sulfur can not be directly used in steel plants without benefici ation. At the same time, such industrial activities have lead to environmental pollution. The aim of This investigation was to recover coal fins and produce suitable water as a mine make up water from one side and to reduce environmental impacts of black water from coal washery plant. In This investigation, by coagulation stusies under optimized conditiones, it is possible to recover more than 90% of coal fines with reduction of BOD and COD to the tune of 170 and 900 mg/lit respectively.
