Abstract:

Remotely sensed data, such as images -which have repeatly and digital multi-spectral potential with lower cost and time requirements- addition to a GIs can play an important role in the assessing environmental impact of mining projects, environmental monitoring of changes, displaying mine separation and landscape evaluation next closure phase. most countries with EIA legislation classify mining as , an activity likely to significantly affect the environment. thus a EIA is an initial part in the environmental prognunes. main stages in environmental impact assessment any projects are as follow: (1) description of proposal project and its alternatives .(2)description of the affected environment.(3)selecting applicable environmental indices . ( 4) determining significant and extent of impacts (5)identification of humane problems.(6) prediction of impacts .(7)evaluation of impacts .(8)impact mitigation(9) estimation of environmental costs and incomes (10) preparing documentation. RS and GIs technologies are used much in 2 and 4 stages which are the greatest, most time consuming, and expensive part in assessment . in this paper a small part of uses of this technologies has been presented, such as : providing litology map, land use map , land cover map, soil map , land unit map , hydrographic map, ecosystem map , volnemablity map, mine location map .
