Abstract:

Today, the environment is one of the most important foundations in mankind life. The dust is one the factors which can pollute the environment. There have been increasing demands for the better disposal of potentially harmful drill dust-especially when drilling worksites are close to residential areas. The microscopic particles of dust created by drilling can be so minute that they remain floating in the air at the site and carry to other areas. Furthermore, the dusts can lead to some respiratory diseases. A new flushing system has been created for controlling the dusts in the recent years. A mixture of water and foam is injected into the air flushing system, binding the drill dust particles together during drilling. The moisted dust is sucked up from the drill hole through a hose and into the dust collector for filtering. It is then ejected, forming little pyramids on the ground which are sprayed with a waterlfoam agent mix for further binding. This treatment greatly reduces the surface tension of the rock dust and binds it into larger units which cannot float in the air and travel. The foaming agent is a totally vegetable-based product which has no polluting for the environment.
